Learn how to Make content for Marketing

1. Planning/ Understanding

Marketing is all about businesses objectives of reaching a certain goal. Whether that's sales of a new product all the way to brand awareness. Its the process of how to achieve this. So when planning content it is vital that you have a structured plan of what you actually want to achieve. Such as gaining more following or sales targets of a product being reached. However it is also important in this phase to start finding out who your idealistic audience is. Age demographic, society and everything else in-between. In the next steps we will teach you how to implement this!

2. Storyboarding

Once you have set out all the planning. Its time to take action! Get a laptop, piece or anything in-between and schedule what shots, people and objectives you will need to record to achieve the targets set out from point 1. Ideally I usually use a piece of paper split into 8 sections. If the content will be longer than 8 sections split each of those sections further. Its a very tedious part of the process but vital for getting everything you want planned and ready to be shot. At the same time think about the theme and how you want it to stand out such as a seasonal promotion needs to have the feel that whatever your selling is linked to that part of the year.

3. Recording

The part of the process which many people find the most interesting! Using your plans and knowledge of what you need to cover start the shoot. Depending on what budget you have available will determine what you can shoot on. But sometimes it can be as easy as using an iphone (other phones are available) for small promotions. Play around with mixes of Aperture, Iso and other features to add that extra affect to the final edit down the line which help you stay competitive in terms of quality. Be prepared for change! Shots won't play out as you want them to so stay adaptive and add your own twists to shots.

4. Editing

There are many softwares to choose from but usually that can come down to editing knowledge/experience when choosing which one to go for. Focus on key ways that will grab the audiences attention. Such as captions, transitions, colour frames and a big game changer which is Audio. Some content may not need it,. But if you do make sure it suits and matches the videos key themes. When exporting make it the highest resolution possible and that the frame ratio will match what you will be uploading onto. Such as Tiktok being 9:16.

5. Upload/publish

When finally uploading you can sprinkle some additional features on top of an already brilliant video from steps 1-4. Understanding each platforms algorithm gives you the best advantage. Such as how different platforms react to how you right your bio, hashtags and content within the video. Sharing and getting people you already know (such as your team) will help boost reactivity numbers and make the algorithm push your content further. As the video is linked to marketing also make sure whatever the reasoning for it (going back to step 1) is linked some how. Such as a product link in the bio or a phone number for the viewer to get directly in contact with your business if a service provider in any form.
